About us and the role
We are looking to appoint an experienced and organised Site Manager to take responsibility for the maintenance, safety, security and day-to-day operation of the school site at Avanti Gardens School in Bristol.
Working closely with the Principal and wider school team, you will ensure our facilities are maintained to a high standard and provide a safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
You will lead on site operations, contractors, cleaning, caretaking, compliance and lettings, while ensuring that health and safety requirements are consistently met.

What will you do?
- Oversee the day-to-day maintenance, security, cleaning, caretaking and general upkeep of the school site, ensuring facilities are safe, well-maintained and fit for purpose.
- Lead and coordinate contractors, cleaners and site staff, ensuring work is completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales and in line with Avanti Schools Trust policies and requirements.
- Manage health and safety, compliance checks, inspections, risk assessments, maintenance schedules and associated records, promptly escalating any significant issues or risks to the Principal and relevant colleagues.
- Manage lettings, deliveries, stock, equipment, supplies and site-related budgets, ensuring resources are appropriately maintained, securely stored and used effectively.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, parents and other stakeholders, while contributing to the wider life of the school and upholding the Trust’s ethos, safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to the welfare of children and young people.

- Experience in a facilities management or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and other relevant legislation.
